Relaxation Without The Eyes
A TALK BETWEEN I, MYSELF AND ME
Time to relax, now? What shall it be: watch the sunset, listen to the ocean, or perhaps sit in front of the television?
How about, savasana, the corpse pose. Corpse. Stillness, no movement, silence, relaxation without using the eyes. Lye on the back, feet separated, go ahead and allow them to fall out to the sides, palms on the floor a little away from the thighs, turned up. Oh dear, got to get up and get a blanket, and a pillow for under my knees. My back needs that today.
After this relaxation, Ill be able to concentrate better and gain a fresh perspective on things, release some of this tension from muscles and mind, and for sure Ill sleep better tonight.
Thats what I like about yoga; the relaxation at the end and sometimes at the beginning of a yoga practice. Its just like with any other pose; it has to be adjusted in a way that suits me best. In order to be comfortable, I needed a pillow under my knees today. The first step is to relax the body completely, and then comes the more slippery step, quieting the mind.
Well, thats another story.
