Putting Your Feet Up
SUPPORTED INVERTED POSE
How about a yoga pose that allows you to really put your feet up at the end of a day?
This inverted pose is a very relaxing pose. Like all poses, there are many options available. See what works for you. You may find the pose more comfortable when you are further away from the wall, or when you have blankets supporting your pelvis and torso, and/or another support for your head.
The wall supports your legs, reviving them. While your back, properly supported, breathes a sigh of relief in this resting pose. You can of course include the children in your renewal time. Tell them a story while they have their feet up the wall, enjoying both the story and the pose.
For deeper relaxation, try an eye bag, and an extra blanket for warmth. If you do need to be mindful of the time, then have a clock or timer close by.
Take the time to nurture yourself.
